BULLISH OF CATTISH?

For many, Fingerprints of the Gods by Graham Hancock first opened our eyes to a now generally accepted fact: that the Great Pyramids of Giza and many others structures on Earth had astronomical alignments consistent with the stars and sky about from eleven to twelve thousand years ago. Highly credible scholars went on further to reinforce their viewpoints around the Sphinx, saying that if the incredible mega-sculpture had been from the era claimed by mainstream Egyptologists and archeologists, the Sphinx would have been a bull rather than a lion, since the rising astrological sign in that epoch was Taurus, while eleven thousand years ago, the rising astrological sign was Leo.

From these hypotheses related to alignments, we are correctly influenced to believe in the existence of advanced civilisations with detailed understandings of the sky and stars before 10k years ago. But could there have been many, many advanced civilisations going back hundreds of thousands of years in time before then? I believe this is the case and our journey in time seems to support this: If the Sphinx was aligned to Leo ten thousand years ago, this would suggest that astrological signs of the Zodiac must have been around well before this time.

All changes of alignment are attributed to the process of precession, where one degree of movement takes seventy-two years. One precessional month - or the time to move from one astrological house to the next takes two thousand one hundred and sixty years and a precessional year (going through all twelve signs of the Zodiac takes twenty six and a half thousand years. This would imply, to acquire and record this knowledge, the ancients must have had knowledge of ‘the movements of the stars’ more than twenty thousand years before the Sphinx.

Furthermore, we are taught writing was only developed less than ten thousand years ago. So are we to believe the ancients accumulated, recorded and stored all this information mentally - and passed it down by word of mouth? Obviously ludicrous...

On another note, if we look back into pre-history, mostly from about seven thousand years ago. Humankind were supposedly still hunter gatherers. So over less than ten millennia, mankind has evolved from hunter gatherers to what is presumably the most technologically advanced species ever to inhabit the earth. Looking back at the pyramids and many many other structures, this seems to fly in the face of archeological fact. Would it be far fetched to assume that within any given epoch of ten or twenty thousand years, civilisation and innovation might have travelled similar distances?

As it is, we find many, many examples of high-tech innovation and technology going back hundreds of thousands of years. Humankind has been crafting incredibly sophisticated artifacts for hundreds of thousands of years, and then all of a sudden, ten thousand years ago we apparently degenerated back to become archaic, for no apparent reason.

I think it more likely that before ten and twenty thousand years - and way back into history - mankind has evolved many times, to be highly skilled, sophisticated and technologically proficient. But each time, these advanced civilisations were decimated, along with a lot of life, by extreme cataclysmic events. But, it seems, these truths are in the process of finally being revealed.
